Tools @ Height - SAFETY MEASURES AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL

Safety Measuresat the Highest Level

The first Snap-on Branded Tools were developed for construction workers building sky-scrapers, reducing weight and saving valuable time.

Today we proceed with this commitment, and present to the industry our Tools @ Height program. An extensive line of products and tools designed to make your work above the ground or in the deep completely safe. Industry regulations exist to protect people from falling, but no such guidance exists for protecting individuals from dropped objects, the fourth highest cause of death in the workplace. The Tools at Height program from Snap-on Industrial Brands offers both safety and productivity and uniquely addresses this critical gap.

The name you trust

[email protected]™ is produced by Snap-on Industrial, a world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of hand tools, power tools, storage systems and workshop equipment to the oil and gas, energy, aerospace, rail, automotive, marine, military and many other sectors.

Helping you work safely

[email protected]™ has made a major contribution to improving site safety and efficiency by preventing hand tools from becoming dropped objects.

The system provides storage of tools when not in use, their secure transportation to the workplace and retention devices that prevent tools from being dropped.
Manufactured to exacting standards, [email protected]™ delivers essential tool control and safety during manufacturing, installation and maintenance activities.

Safety First

Regardless of your at-height applications, Snap-on has your tool safety covered – providing a complete selection of retention devices that prevent tools from being dropped.

SAFE. Secure. SNAP-ON.

1. Leave it to the experts

Snap-on provides a drop prevention system like no other. We’ll work with you to develop your drop prevention needs… including the tools, attachment points, lanyards, pouches and holsters, that combine to create a turnkey solution that enables your workers to do just that… WORK.

2. Save time and money

Engineered attached points don’t interfere with the functionality of the tools, and are more durable than simple “add-ons” that require frequent maintenance or replacement.

3. Beat the statistics

About 70% of drops happen during the exchange of the lanyard from one tool to another. The Snap-on [email protected] system features independent tethering, which means each tool is attached to its own lanyard. Minimising exchanges reduces the likelihood of drops and increases safety.

TOOLS@HEIGHT

4. Minimise risk

Independent tethering also allows the tool to be removed from and returned to its holster or pouch using just one hand. Safety is improved by allowing the user to maintain the critical “three points of contact” when working at height.

5. Retain control

Our modular approach means you can configure the tools/ holsters based on a user’s personal preference, while providing a system that meets your safety standards.

FOD MEETS FME

SOLUTIONS THAT CROSS OVER INDUSTRIES

Attaching tools to a lanyard or tether can keep them from falling when used in high places, can prevent foreign material in certain circumstances, and keep you from losing valuable tools in environments like ocean platforms. We’ve seen attachments ranging from zip-ties around wrenches to eyes screwed into the tops of screwdriver handles. Neither allows you to use the tool easily, and both can be unreliable. Snap-on Industrial wrench tethers allow you to use the wrench freely, and they won’t come apart. Our screwdriver tether is designed to connect below your hand so you get the full functionality of the tool.

We can fi t tether connections to a wide range of hand and cordless power tools with lanyards that can be attached to wrist, belt, harness or other location based on use and weight.

The things we learned working with aviation/aerospace customers controlling FOD were things we didn’t have to learn all over again when we started talking to the nuclear power people about FME or Foreign Material Exclusion. They had the same issues with tools falling into reactors as the aviation folks had with tools left behind in jet engines. FME required keeping track of tools in and out of the tool box, keeping assembled tools together in service and using tethering to keep the tools attached to the technician. We share best practices and ideas among customers to keep productivity high while meeting regulations, so let us put our experience to work for you.

Key Points

Our Tools @ Height range offers these advantages:

Carefully placed attachment points are designed and tested to maintain the functionality of the tools.

From individual tools to custom-designed kits, we’ll help create the systems you need, then ship the assembled components that are ready to work upon arrival.

Our [email protected] system has been proven again and again to reduce dropped object occurrences in real world applications in a variety of industries.

Our process provides consistent placement of tethering attachment points, and a wide selection of lanyards, that provide workers with familiar, reliable tools across multiple facilities. When your crews relocate to a different worksite, there’s no need for additional training on the tools they’ll be using.

Attachment points, lanyards, tool bags and other components of our system work together to create innovative, dependable systems.

[email protected] kits contain standard Snap-on tools that have been enhanced with appropriate drop prevention components. If a tool needs to be replaced, you can be assured that an identical item, equipped with [email protected] modifications, will be readily available for use “right out of the box”.

Snap-on Account Managers have the knowledge and experience to train your employees on the safe and effective use of tethered tools.

[email protected] drop prevention can be implemented for only a portion of the cost of in-house systems.

ATTACHMENT POINTS

The fixing points are carefully placed. They are designed and tested to maintain the functionality of the tools.

SAFETY INNOVATIONS

Four holes are better and safer than one. [email protected] sockets, adapters and extensions have a locking hole on all four sides. [email protected] drive tools and ratchets have a locking pin that fits into the side locking hole for positive locking. Typical attachments with only one side hole have an increased risk of falling apart. The [email protected] range reduces the risk of damage to the assemblies you work on and, more importantly, the people you work with.

A TURNKEY SOLUTION

Whether individual tools or customer-specific kits, we help you to create the systems you really need. The components arrive at your premises fully assembled and are ready for immediate use.

TRAINING FOR DROP PREVENTION

Snap-on Account Managers have the experience and knowledge to train your team in the efficient and safe use of the tools.

LOWER IMPLEMENTATION COSTS

[email protected] can be implemented for a fraction of the cost of in-house systems. The standardized positioning of the fastening elements reduces the training effort.
